Opening of the ski area : January 7, 2017 !
Le Ballon d’Alsace, located in the heart of the Vosges Mountain Range and the Ballons des Vosges Regional Natural Park, is a family ski resort offering numerous activities. The recent developments and works carried out at Le Ballon allow alpine skiing to be practiced on a single ski area that links the slopes of Gentiane and Langenberg. In all, there are 10 slopes, 9 ski lifts and 1 tow rope to Gentiane snow garden (Jardin des Neiges). Alternatively, you can cross-country ski and skate ski on 6 slopes (a total of 40 km). The site has been awarded "2 Nordics" by Nordic France. A Snow Park, with its 11 modules divided into 2 lanes (experienced or beginners) and 2 free-of-charge secured and groomed snow slopes, (at the Col des Démineurs and Langenberg) complement the snow activities on offer.
Snowshoe treks are offered by qualified and professional guides. You may also take your first ride on a dog sled at Le Ballon d'Alsace.
Depending on snow cover, the ski slopes are open from 09:00 to 16:30 until mid-January and from 09:00 to 17:00 until the end of the season.
There are carparks and sales points at the reception buildings in Gentiane and Langenberg.
Cross-country ski slopes open from 09:00 to 17:00 every day starting from Le Ballon d'Alsace (Démineurs), every day during school holidays and at weekends, starting from Planche des Belles Filles during term time.
